There are only 100 independent schools in Scotland and if you live outside of Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen, then regrettably you have a limited choice. At this time we can only rank the senior schools on the basis of Highers or A levels, but we do list schools for all ages on our search engine. In this section we cover 5 aspects of choosing an independent school in Scotland for your child.
A. Best Scottish School League Tables – transfer to this section to view the top Scottish senior schools tables listed separately by A levels or Scottish Highers. Some schools have too small a sixth form for us to include them in the rankings. A few are offering the International Baccalaureate, in which case they will be covered in that section.
B. How to choose an Independent School in Scotland – click here to download a free eGuide on how to choose a Scottish independent school, including factors other than academic performance. This eGuide also includes a 30 point questionnaire to help you evaluate your shortlist.
C. Find a Scottish independent school – if you are looking at the top Scottish league tables, then just clicking your cursor on a school name will take you to the school’s details. If you want to find a school by area then follow this link and enter either the town or county in the search engine. Preps and Pre Preps are included here.
D. Expert assistance in finding a Scottish independent school – click here to go to the enquiry form to enter your requirements.
E. Reduce the school fees. It is our policy to only list fees for schools which are included in the league tables. Plainly independent education can be very expensive, but if you would like to explore financial and tax planning techniques to reduce your liability by 50% or more
